He is Risen!!!
April 20th, 2025
'Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, '
Luke 24:1-6
Just a couple days before, in a Friday, Jesus had been crucified. His disciples were crushed, all hope apparently was gone: the teachings ceased because the Master was dead, the miracles ended because the Miracle worker died, the crowed stopped moving because the prophet was dead, the waiting Jews were sad because their Messiah was killed. However, certain women that followed Jesus when He was alive wanted to one more time honor Him even in His death by anointing His body with spices. These women knew were Jesus had been buried, therefore, on Sunday morning, they went to seek for Him exactly in the same place, in the place of the dead were He had been laid. However, when they came the stone was rolled away, and the tomb was empty.
In that moment of perplexity, two angels came and asked them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not there, but is risen!". Hallelujah! This is the great news, our Savior died for our sins, however, He did not stay dead, He conquered dead, He rose in victory, and now He says, "'“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”' I Corinthians 15:55. Just like He was raised from the dead, we can also be raised from the dead on that day if we are joined with Him. It's written, "'If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.'" I Corinthians 15:19-20.
Praises be to God. Blessed Easter, in Remembrance of the Kings of Kings, Who Lives!!
